Misha and ShimmyBOOM Bellydance
Global Caravan Bellydance with Certified Master Teacher Misha (Wed, Thurs / 6 - 7 pm, 7 - 8 pm Wed / 6:30 - 7:30 pm Thurs)
Join Misha's Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance classes and immerse yourself in a unique blend of ancient and contemporary dance styles from around the world. These classes focus on building strength, fluidity, and confidence while exploring the rich cultural traditions of tribal bellydance. Misha’s Thursday night Bellydance Bliss class is perfect for all levels, you'll enjoy a supportive and fun environment to express yourself and connect with your body. Or level up your dance in her intermediate and advanced classes on Wednesdays for seasoned dancers. Misha also directs ShimmyBOOM, Florida’s premier Global Caravan Bellydance troupe (participation by instructor permission).
New for March 2025! Join Misha to learn a fairy-inspired dance for a springtime flash mob!
February/March Fairy Flight Flash Mob Class (Thurs / 7:30 - 8:30 pm)
If you love theatrical themed flash mobs like the famous Witches Dance then you simply must join us for Misha’s Fairy Flight Flash Mob! Starting Feb 6, we will meet Thursday night to learn a section of choreography before circling together at the Crystal Cave to make divine dance! This inclusive piece is open for dancers of all levels who want to make movement magic happen. Each week, Misha will teach you parts of the dance, inspiring you to fly with open hearts and joyful movement. You will get to develop your own fairy costume too and join the group in the flash mob performance in mid March.
Karen teaches classical Egyptian style bellydance
Raq It Bellydance with Karen (Tues / 7 - 8 pm)
Join Karen and learn the fundamentals of Raqs Sharqi , Egyptian style bellydance with layering for the more advanced dancer. Bellydance is a “do-able” dance form, taught in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Strength in the body and mind and spirit.

Misha & ShimmyBOOM Bellydance are proud to announce the return of Sarasota's Bellydance Festival! This year we are creating a brand new experience with an overarching theme for our show and workshops. This year's theme is Galaxies!
Come together with other heavenly bodies and dance an entire solar system of Global Caravan inspired moves, combos, and formations with GC Master Teacher Angie Neylan, of Blue Moon Caravan and Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance International, for our second annual event. The fantastic immersive weekend event is currently sold out, but you can join the waitlist below or contact us to be included for next year.
Program Details
• Classes are generally from 1 hour and are in person at Cypress. Many are also available online via Zoom
• Training is provided by our in-house certified dance teacher, Misha or her special guests
• Classes are inclusive, safe, and supportive spaces that feature dancers of all ages, shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and gender expressions
• Make new friends and develop deep connections in our dance community
• Play and explore in a safe and sacred space
• Discover how to move your body in a way that is comfortable, strong, and empowered as you build confidence, excitement and joy
• Classes are designed to allow you to take regular classes that will support all of your dance goals
• Membership in private online community & weekly emails for Misha’s classes
• Opportunities to perform throughout the year once students reach intermediate level

PROGRAM FEES
We believe in making these educational, self-improvement offerings available affordable. Fees vary from program to program but tend to run in the $17-22 range per class depending upon whether you choose to purchase a single drop in or class package.
Note: we accept cash, charge, check, and PayPal. Additional fees may be added for PayPal purchases.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Classes are available either as a weekly drop in or as a multiple week class package. For Misha’s classes, class fee includes all handouts and class materials as well as access to the recording of class for 6 months. After Week 2, no refunds will be given for cancellations of class packages.
